Alpha Delta Theta sorority Alpha Delta Theta, a Christian Service sorority, is the oldest sorority on the High Point University campus and is comprised of Christian women from all backgrounds, ages, and majors. Their purpose is to serve others in the name of God. They meet each week in the Chapel Lounge at 7 pm. Throughout the year, Alpha Delta Theta performs service projects such as visiting patients at local nursing homes, the children’s hospital, and High Point Regional Hospital. They sponsor a family at Christmas time and buy gifts for them, among other worthwhile endeavors. Fun activities include two retreats a year, one in the fall and another in the spring, and their biggest social of the year, the Yellow Rose Formal, held in April. . Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity Alpha Phi Omega is a national co-ed service fraternity based on the three cardinal principles of leadership, friendship and service. Since 1925 when Alpha Phi Omega was founded nationally, the organization has been volunteering in four areas of service: service to the campus, service to the community, service to the nation and service to the fraternity as a whole. The Mu Xi chapter at High Point University was founded in 1958. This fall we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary and are very excited to bring our alumni back and celebrate our accomplishments and the lives we have touched over the years. Members foster unity by collectively completing hundreds of service hours each year on a variety of projects. The fraternity was recognized last year by the Volunteer Center as “Co-service Organization of the Year.” Alpha Phi Omega is the largest nationally recognized fraternity in the United States out of all nationally recognized social or service-based Greek Organizations. Campus Crusade For Christ Campus Crusade For Christ is an organization for Christian students who join together for worship and spiritual growth and for Christian witness to their fellow students. . The Association of Jewish Students The Association of Jewish Students (AJS) is a student organization whose goal is to provide the Jewish students of High Point University with the opportunity to meet other Jews through both religious and social activities. It is a Hillel organization, and Jewish students can participate in all national and state Hillel programs and events. Students attend Shabbat services, celebrate major holidays, and have joint events with Jewish students attending various universities from all over the Southeast. The AJS welcomes students from all movements of Judaism and people from other faiths who are interested in learning about Judaism. Fellowship of Christian Athletes The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) welcomes all students. During the 2006-2007 academic year, the members participated in the Go Far Race for the Health Center, Operation Child at Christmas, food collections for Open Door Ministries, the Big Brother Big Sister program, the Black History program at Kirkman Park Elementary School, and the Special Olympics. Following a regular meeting time of every-other-Tuesday, the FCA always enjoys faith-building fellowship and fun through the inspiration of their peers and through prayer. We follow one simple mission statement: “Present to athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.” Delta Iota Alpha (previously Kappa Chi) Delta Iota Alpha, or DIA, comes from an acronym of three Greek words – Doulos Iesous, meaning “bondslaves of Jesus,” and “Adelphos,” meaning “brothers.” This describes the mission and purpose of DIA – to be the brotherhood of Jesus’ servants. Delta Iota Theta is an organization dedicated to uplifting the Christian spirit on the campus of High Point University. Brothers of Delta Iota Alpha are committed to the improvement of their lives, the University, and the community through the love of Jesus Christ.
